I’m so overjoyed to have a progressive African-American man as president. I’m so happy to have a smart president! I know all our ancestors are jumping for joy in Heaven. What can I write that hasn’t been written? It’s been said that this is a big step forward for race relations in America. It’s been said that hopefully this will inspire Black boys to do better. It’s been written that Michelle can hopefully inspire Black girls to dream bigger and see Black women as the real people we are. All I can do is echo those hopes.

I know it will take at least one term just to clean up Dumbya’s messes. I know that racism isn’t all over now. I know that this is the beginning, or the middle, of improving race relations. I know that it’s a new day and better days are ahead.  I know that this could only happen in America. I know that America is trying to be as good as its promise.
